SOUTH LOOP

This neighborhood, ideally located and bounded by the Stevenson Expressway on the south, Congress Parkway on the north and from Lake Michigan west to the Chicago River is comprised of several areas. To the east, you have Museum Campus which includes many of Chicago’s landmarks such as the Field Museum, Adler Planetarium and the Shedd Aquarium. Lakefront parklands surround newly built, mixed use, housing developments and are an extension of Grant Park. Other highlights of the South Loop include Notherly Island, Prairie Avenue District, Printer’s, Motor and Millionaire’s Row, and home of the Chicago Bears, Soldier Field. Its history, coupled with redevelopment, has spurred the growth of new restaurants, music clubs, and smaller theaters and shopping districts.
