Just north of Lincoln Park, the Lakeview neighborhood is bordered by West Diversey Parkway, West Irving Park Road, North Ravenswood Avenue and the shores of Lake Michigan. Lakeview is a diverse neighborhood with a lively mix of interesting cultures and traditions. The area is rife with eateries ranging from traditional Italian to Ethiopian fare. The northern section of town is home to Wrigley Field and the Chicago Cubs baseball team. At the intersection of Clark and Irving Park Road is the famous Graceland Cemetery where many famous Chicagoans are buried. Many streets are named after politicians, authors, businessmen, civic leaders, war heroes and explorers. The business district is comprised of upscale boutiques, pop culture, nightlife, movie theaters, sports bars and great restaurants. The CTA provides residents with convenient access to the Red, Purple and Brown Line services of the “L.” Lakeview is home to many Chicago events; The Chicago Marathon winds through the neighborhood, the annual Gay Pride Parade is held on the last Sunday each June, the popular Lakeview Garden Walk tours many beautiful home gardens, and juried art shows abound along with live entertainment, fine food and musical performances.
