GOLD COAST

Chicago’s historic Gold Coast neighborhood was established in the late 1800s as a retreat for the wealthiest of Chicago’s elite. Today, it remains one of Chicago’s most affluent neighborhoods and arguably, the most historically significant. The Gold Coast follows the shore of Lake Michigan and is bordered by the beautiful acreage of Lincoln Park on the north and by distinctive skyscrapers, world-class shopping, fine dining, cultural institutions, and hotels of the Magnificent Mile on the south. Stunning brownstones and other 19th Century homes beautifully exist alongside 20th Century luxury townhomes and high-rises in the landmark Astor Street District and elsewhere in the neighborhood. Amid the rich history and beautiful architecture, the Gold Coast is an incredibly popular nightspot with plenty to offer visitors and locals. Highly rated public and private schools are nearby and transportation options are convenient.
